Board President & Founder of IAA
Marlaina Schroeder Spivey is the founder and board president of Inclusive Arts Alliance. As the mother of two IVF miracle babies, Aurora (4) and Giannis (1), Marlaina is deeply committed to creating a bright future for her children. When her daughter Aurora was diagnosed as autistic at 21 months, Marlaina’s search for resources led her to realize a need for more inclusive options. This inspired her to create the organization she wished had existed for her family and others.
Now in her 15th year as a full-time science teacher at River City High School in West Sacramento, Marlaina also brings over 30 years of experience in dance as the owner and director of Mirror Image Dance Company. An award-winning choreographer and instructor, she founded MIDC to provide a safe and nurturing environment where students of all backgrounds can learn, form lasting friendships, and express themselves freely.
Marlaina's dedication to education extends beyond the dance studio. As a respected teacher and community leader, she has developed innovative academic programs that have been implemented statewide, earning her recognition for fostering student growth and achievement. She is a passionate advocate for the power of dance, education, and inclusivity, striving to make a lasting impact in both her local and broader communities.

Jaclyn Frantz brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the arts to her role as the Treasurer of the Inclusive Arts Alliance. With over eight years of teaching experience, she has had the privilege of working with a diverse range of young people, including those with disabilities. Originally from California, Jaclyn’s journey in dance began at the age of three in Utah. She returned to California during middle school and continued to nurture her love for the art form. In 2007, Jaclyn began training under Marlaina at Mirror Image Dance Company (MIDC), where her dedication and talent shone brightly. She made history as the first captain of the MIDC Competition Team in 2009, and her passion for leadership and the arts has only grown since.
A 2012 graduate of Davis High School, Jaclyn went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from Chico State in 2016. Her commitment to fostering artistic expression and community engagement came full circle in 2017, when she returned to MIDC as an instructor and later became co-owner in 2019.
Jaclyn’s drive to ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the arts is rooted in her belief that creativity is for everyone. As Treasurer of the Inclusive Arts Alliance, she works tirelessly to support the organization’s mission of breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for all community members to experience the transformative power of the arts.
